How To Make Recycling Cost Neutral?

To make this program cost neutral, we recommend charging each customer an eco-fee of 2% or $1.50 per appointment. Keep in mind charging an eco-fee doesn’t have to be scary! Every day customers are contributing small percentages of their bill to responsible environmental practises! Industries such as: Tire & Oil Changes, Electronics, Hotels, Bottles & Cans, Chemicals, Musical Instruments, Medical Equipment, Restaurants, Dry Cleaners & Home Depot. Consumers are becoming more conscious about what happens with their waste. Here are some different ways you can implement this eco-fee to make your recycling solution cost-neutral or run a surplus!

Example #1

If you have 5 stylists x 5 clients a day x 5 days a week x 4 weeks in a month = 500 client / month / stylist at $80 a client is 40,000 a month of income, if you charged 2% of that as an eco-fee thats $800 a month in additional income by recycling!

Example #2

If your renting stylist charged each customer $1.50 and services 160 customers a month (8 clients a day, five days a week, average of 4 weeks per month) thats a total of 240 a month! If you had bi-weekly service for $200 a month split between 8 stylists thats a net gain of $220 a month bonus for your renter AND you’re doing your part to reduce salon waste!

There’s more than 1 way to make your program cost neutral and keep in mind you don’t have to charge any eco-fee if you don’t want too!
